Using Meditation For Stress Relief

Many people find stress relief through meditation. Stress is an unbalanced state of being, more important stress is unnatural. Whatever personal situations, life problems or other issues that maybe happening right now, all of them create stress. If a person is feeling stressed, there is usually and underlying emotion at the root of it. All stress is rooted in fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of change, fear of the future, fear of the past, fear of death, or sometimes even the fear of fear itself. Using meditation for stress relief can help, because it is a natural way of relaxing and calming the mind. Instead of using external will to force transformations in your world, using meditation allows access to your inner will and to be guided by it.
In simplest terms, we need to use meditation for stress relief because it allows your mind to access your heart. The heart shows us how to be fearless by facing our fears, allowing us to conceptualize and follow through with changes in ourselves. Often it is hard to see that we are staying in a career or a relationship that is bad for us, because our fear of leaving is driven by a deeper fear of abandonment. Such situations cause our stress levels to stay heightened without relief. This causes confusion which deafens the mind to our inner voice, the heart. The human mind finds stress overpowering and makes it difficult to stay focused. helps quieten the mind so you can listen to your Heart. By listening to our Heart we can experience greater peace and better health which in turn bring us more fulfilled and balanced lives.
Using meditation for stress relief can help slow the mind down, so that we can find out heart again. This is the best way to heal ourselves and find harmony in our personal lives. By listening to our inner voice, we are able to express ourselves more calmly and find balance during times of great turmoil. The primary purpose of meditation is helping to still the mind, finding inner peace, natural calm and a sense of serenity. Each are components that allow for the reduction of stress psychologically, but also improving our physical health and spiritual well being.
In this way, meditation is a way to reconnect with our inner self and rediscover what is our true state of being. By relieving stress we emerge reconnected with our hearts. Using meditation for stress relief is a first step, but complete healing of a heart takes time. As we rediscover our true nature, we also remember our place as a child of the universe. Meditation and relaxation let us give nurturing to our inner child, as we are reborn and return to a state of love. Meditation allows us to heal our hearts and return to a state of personal well being. Using meditation for stress relief awakens our senses back into reality without the negative impact of stress in our daily life.

How To Meditate Effectively

Learning how to meditate effectively is easier than most people think, but mastering meditation takes time like anything worthwhile in life. The basic principles of meditation are based on simple practices, most are part of everyday activities that you already understand. When learning how to meditate effectively, you will need to become comfortable with three basic practices. These are sitting still, breathing and clearing the mind. The combination of these are used to achieve a true state of relaxation.
The practice of sitting still is something that anyone can do, no matter what their gender, weight, height or body type. It requires not thinking about sitting, but just doing it. Making yourself sit still is an action, yet it is done without movement or muscular control. Instead, the individual sits completely still and lets their body fall naturally into position. Some people use the lotus position for meditation, but this can be uncomfortable and is not necessary to meditate effectively. Sitting still on the ground, on the floor, in a chair, on a couch, or in any position that allows you to sit with an upright spine and an open body posture will do.

The practice of breathing is natural, because you have been doing it since the first moment of birth. Begin by breathing deeply inhaling with your nostrils and exhaling out from your mouth. Keep your breaths slow, do not force your breathing, becoming aware that your breath and how it is synced with your natural body rhythms. Do this repetitively, allowing the process of breathing deeper and slower to increase your overall relaxation. As this state of relaxation calms your body, be aware of your in breaths, out breaths and pauses in between them. This leads to a calm focused clearing of the mind.
The practice of clearing the mind is simple, but can also be difficult for those just learning to meditate. In essence, all one needs to do is close their eyes and roll them slightly backward. The optimum point is somewhere between, but just above the eyebrows. This eye position helps to calm the mind faster, perhaps because it stimulates nerves near the third eye chakra region. While doing this, attention is drawn away from breathing, as the mind slows down and begins to empty of thoughts. This is the final step to achieving a state of meditation. It can take some work and probably won’t happen the first time, but it does become easier.
As an individual is able to unite these three basic practices, they will know how to meditate effectively. If practiced regularly, anyone can learn to meditate for longer time periods, eventually allowing for states of deeper transcendence mentally, physically and spiritually. Those who meditate will experience an enhancement of well being, health and awareness. Learning how to meditate effectively, the basic practices of sitting still, breathing and clearing the mind leads to mastering the art of relaxation through meditation. Remember that learning how to meditate effectively is a first step and should be fun, as much as it maybe enlightening.
